Colorado Projects 9% Growth In Job Demand For Welders By 20321
There’s a proven need for welders across the country as well as in Colorado: While the U.S. Department of Labor projects at least 45,000 job openings per year for skilled welders nationwide by 2034, the State of Colorado in particular projects a 9% growth rate from 2022 to 20321. Train at one of the state’s top schools for welder training: Â鶹ÉçTech’s Denver campus.
The Welding and Fabrication Technology programs at our Denver campus train students to develop the requisite competencies to start a career as a welder in construction, manufacturing, mining, agriculture and more.
Â鶹ÉçTech’s Denver campus offers two training programs for welding: a 720-hour Welding and Fabrication Technology diploma program and a 920-hour Welding and Fabrication Technology with Pipe diploma program. The additional 200 hours in the Pipe program focus on SMAW and GMAW/FCAW (MIG) pipe welding in specific positions: 1G-Rotated and 6G positions for MIG, and (1G-Rotated) position, horizontal (2G), multiple (5G), and multiple inclined (6G) positions for SMAW welding. The V-Groove welding technique is taught for all of these positions.
Welding School Training Highlights
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
- Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG)
- Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW)
- Tungsten Arc Gas Welding (GTAW/TIG)
- Metal fabrication techniques
- Welding plate metal, carbon steel plates, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Welding in horizontal, vertical, and overhead settings
- V-Groove Multi-Positional Pipe Welding (Welding & Fabrication with Pipe Program)
When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to complete pre-qualification tests for construction, structural or pipe-related projects. You’ll also qualify to test for Level One certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).
